Khonyā
Khonyā suggests a renaissance in Persian musical ritual held by Persian troubadours, the wanderer musicians and storytellers. The 20-minute tanbour solo performance accompanied by a video art depicts the story of a human life i.e., born, life, coupling and annihilation. The musical representation is done through the application of melodic and rhythmic figures. The modulations for the aural depiction of senses and meanings are explored through research in the potentialities for inter/intra modulation between modes in two main genres of Persian classical and regional music repertoires. The project was performed in SOAS, University of London in September 2019.
