Inscriptions Upon the Water

Inscriptions upon the water is the musical narrative of four events beheld by water since the moment of creation until now and is demonstrated in a 4-episode-musical video art whose authorship, concept, music composition and tanbour are done by Niknaz. The narrative is portrayed by the creation of aural images, non-verbal poetic-ness and musical metaphors which are consequently embodied as visuals and form the video art. The constituted musical patterns based on melodic and rhythmic figures in Persian music repertoire serve as vehicles for carrying senses and meanings that conduct the audience for experiencing common emotional feelings and dynamic imagination. The four stories are: 1. The creation of universe while His Throne was upon the water. 2. Two friends facing beside water. 3. The battle of Karbala over water. 4. Water crisis in Khuzestan. This project is selected and awarded by BOZAR and Goethe institute for HerMap Art Projects held in June 2021- March 2022.
